The United States still uses the electoral college to decide the president. While it was a good idea back then (people were spread far apart that having a popular vote would take months), it's not so great anymore, like a candidate with the most popular vote loses to the most electoral votes. This can't be possible in a modern republic! (Happened 4 times already) Since space is limited in writing these, and I can't explain everything on this, Im gonna post a link to this petition to a video explaining the trouble with the electoral college.
