The electoral college is an out dated method to the election process. The President and Vice President should be elected by a nationwide popular vote. Elections that are by the people, for the people is what this country was founded on. The electoral college takes away the voice of Americans during elections. The example of where the electoral college failed us was in the 2000 election. Al Gore had more than 500,000 Americans vote for him as President and yet he was not elected. This system is not free democracy that our country was founded upon. Thank you for your consideration on this petition Mr. President.
