Now that ballots and votes can be counted in hours or at worst case 10 days there is no longer a need to utilize an electoral college. Abolishing the electoral college system and using only popular votes makes every vote matter more because the peoples votes are the ones who count and not those of the electoral college voters. It also makes every state and district matter more instead of just swing states and high vote states so that people actually feel included and important to the process.
