The Electoral College is an antiquated and unscientific approach which was useful when the country was primarily populated rurally and it was difficult for the average citizen to get to a polling place. Today, the abundance of cars, public transportation and even early and absentee voting make it possible for nearly every citizen to vote. Just as our local elected officials are elected on a one-person, one vote basis, so too should the office of The President.
