The electoral college, albeit mentioned in the constitution and discussed heavily by the founding fathers, actually serves to desecrate the ideals of democracy that are used in congressional elections and the like. If an American citizen's vote truly counts, it will stand for itself, instead of being tossed aside as a representative of the electoral college system. Such an action will further serve to help the needs and rights of this nation and its citizens, because it will actually allow for democracy to prevail above all else.
