The Electoral College has grown obsolete since it's creation, it was originally made because most people were not that well educated and news traveled slowly around the nation, now that we are smarter and news can travel across the country in minutes, we need to ditch this method in favor of popular vote. This way there is less of a chance for the rigging of an election by any public official, including an incumbent president.
