The electoral college was instituted and adopted at a time when information and communication were not readily accessible and rapidly communicated. Given the rise of and availability of the internet and television, the concerns addressed by the introduction of the electoral college are no longer pertinent to today's society. In areas all across America, people fail to vote because they feel that their individual vote does not make a difference as to the outcome of the Presidential Election. This is particularly true in States where a historical precedent has all of its electoral votes cast for a particular political party. It is time for us to change this outdated practice, and restore the power to the people. One Citizen, one vote, may the best man/woman win !
