We, the citizens of the United States of America, do hereby request the abolishment of the Electoral College in support of having a national popular vote for the presidency of the United States. The Electoral College is a violation of the most fundamental principles of democracy allowing for inequality in voting. Under the current system, the candidate who wins the most votes in the electoral college wins the election rather than by the majority of the voting citizens of this country which, by any standard, is not a choice of the people.
