This petition is to get the government to fix a flaw in the current Electoral process; namely, allowing states to award delegates to candidates who did not receive the most votes. Without fixing this flaw, the peoples' vote means little, as the results can be pushed aside in favor of a candidate chosen for other reasons by a given party.
This is not how democracy was supposed to work--and I can only imagine how our forefathers would respond were they to take part in an election and then, despite the voting results, be told it can all be ignored.
Before anyone thinks this is in favor of any candidate, realize it allows for misuse by any party, any candidate. Next time it COULD BE the means to keep a candidate who could do great things for our country from ever getting elected.
