President Obama, we ask you to please abolish fake encores at concerts. Every night in this great country, musical acts pretend to leave the stage without having played their greatest hit. The audience then pretends to call them back out. What a surprise! The artist comes back out and plays a few more songs, including their greatest hit! Who could have predicted it?
Everyone in the room. Everyone in the room knows that the artist will come back out. This playacting is contributing to a degradation of the arts. Sincerity, which is crucial to art, is lost. Additionally, without the fake encore, consumer satisfaction will certainly increase as concert goers get to hear more songs. Please end this song and dance by abolishing fake encores at concerts throughout America.
