Abolish the FCC's authority to censor television and radio.

Created by P.D. on December 18, 2012

We the undersigned on President Obama to abolish the authority of the Federal Communications Commission to deny a license or renewal of a license to any television or radio station to broadcast based on the nature or content of what they broadcast. For example, they should not have to edit out individual words spoken by those on the air for fear of reprisal from the FCC.

Obama should uphold the philosophy of his party, The Democratic Party, of supporting regulations on industry for the public good but exempting the entertainment industry from regulations which conflict with the First Amendment.
