Abolish the FDA

Created by S.F. on September 25, 2011

True Healthcare reform means making healthcare cheaper for the consumer. Not only should we abolish the FDA, but we should change patent laws making patents on pharmaceuticals last significantly shorter. Abolishing the FDA will actually let innovators innovate rather than shackle them in bureaucratic red tape. It would also make it much less expensive to develop new drugs. Shortening the duration of drug patents means generics can come sooner, which drives innovation and creates competition creating cheaper drugs and new cures. Offer government rewards for cures, like the bounty we offered for Bin Laden. There also needs to be reform in liability standards. Too many bogus malpractice suits have to be heard. Penalize those who file false or unfounded claims.
