Abolish federal income tax and tax states.
Save money and simplify the tax code by getting rid of the IRS and have the federal government tax the states. Let the states figure out how to get the money. Each state has its own resources and they get revenue a different way let them figure out how to tax their citizen. This would allow people to vote with their’ feet and move to places with tax codes that fit them. The states would also be better about putting pressure on the federal government to cut costs. We could also save money on the redundant systems created by separate federal and state tax codes
