Allow the free market to decide the worth of employees.
The simple existence of a minimum wage and the more absurd discussion of increasing the minimum wage prevents businesses and workers from basing wages upon the actual value of the work performed.
Having forced set wages and/or increased wages for zero to low skill and experience jobs may have many negative consequences. Businesses will not pay employees more than the value of the work that the employees produce. All businesses are in existence to make money and forcing those businesses to lose money on employees will force them to either close their doors, avoid hiring employees, or find ways to replace and/or terminate current employees.
A "living wage" is something earned, not something that is a right due at birth.
