Abolish the Federal Reserve and have Congress print money as stated in Article I Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

Created by C.H. on February 13, 2014

Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states that congress has the power, "To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures." The Federal Reserve is a private bank which prints our money and charges us interest on the money that is printed (partially due to our debt). What's worse is that the money is not backed by anything, leading to inflation and economic uncertainty. Since the Federal Reserve's creation in 1913, the value of the dollar has declined over 90%. Allow congress to print money and back it with something substantial, such as gold or silver, as stated in the U.S. Constitution.
