abolish the Felony Murder Rule.

Created by D.S. on August 29, 2015

What the Felony Murder Rule says is if anyone has anything to do with a felony in which a murder takes place, such as a robbery, that person is as guilty as the person who has committed the murder. Ryan Holle was at home, asleep in his own bed, when his roommate committed a crime. Ryan is serving a life sentence, because his roommate and companions committed a murder during the commission of the crime. Nobody disputes that Ryan was sleeping at home, but he is still considered to be guilty? No. This makes no sense at all. Abolish this rule, and free any citizen who is imprisoned solely because of it.
