The Filibuster system has been abused by both parties, but even more so by the Republicans. The Filibuster was meant to be used on extreme issues and situations, not as a method for the minority party to block all attempts of governing by the majority. This system needs to be either eliminated, or changed to prevent the current abuse. The Filibuster has brought our government to a halt, and must end now. 51 votes is a majority, and this. 60 votes needed. is against the intent of the Constitution.
