Too many residents are being foreclosed on my HOAs for non payment of dues. People work very hard in this economy to keep their homes and pay their mortgage. A HOA can send a resident to their lawyer for $800, which turns into $10,000 including lawyers fees. A lein is placed on the home owners property and foreclosure procedures start. There is no way to contact the members of the board unless it is through the manager and he makes the decision.
Please make it law to abolish HOAs or limit their power. It is now becoming big business especially for lawyers and this needs to stop. Who is looking out for the interest of the home owner who works hard to pay their mortgage? HOAs are abusing the residents.
