According to the IRS SOI, http://www.irs.gov/taxstats/article/0,,id=171960,00.html the Net Individual Income is only $814 million. That's a not even a drop in the bucket that is the national budget. Politicians all say they want to help the middle class and the lower income with lower taxes, but I'm not seeing how collecting individual income tax at all even matters and I wouldn't be surprised if it costs more to collect this money than the government even makes from it. Instead of trying to come up with political doublespeak for change and not actually doing anything but preserving the status quo, make a real difference and lessen real burdens on the American people by removing the individual income tax.
