Abolish the IRS and repeal the 16th Amendement

Created by J.G. on September 24, 2011

An income tax is incompatible with liberty. An especially egregious tax, it requires the invasion of privacy rights, requires citizens to testify against themselves by filing a return, and requires them and their employers to serve as their own tax collectors.

The income tax has also enabled an exponential growth in the size of government, with its corporatism, perpetual wars, and violation of our liberty. It is a depressant on jobs and economic growth. The U.S. for more than the first half of its existence had no income tax and the Founding Fathers even prohibited it in the Constitution. Imposing an income tax required amending the Constitution.

Repeal the 16th Amendment, abolish all income tax and the IRS, and replace it with nothing.
