Americans have struggled for too long with a burdensome tax code. We dread April 15th. What America needs is a flat tax, similar to a sales tax. This would be paid by retailers, at the same time that they pay their monthly sales taxes. The technology is here now so that it is no longer burdensome for businesses. The President has promised that he would simplify the tax code and make it fairer for everyone. We know that the President will keep his promise. This is something which will easily gain bi-partisan support. The momentum in congress is there and the American people are ready. No longer will Americans dread the thought of paying their taxes. No longer will people who should be paying taxes escape. No longer will people have to rack up large tax bills for taxes they cannot afford.
