We, the students of Avenues, feel the “Meatless Mondays” are a restriction of our rights to eat what we please. Like the vegetarian option offered everyday, we feel that a meat option must be available per request. How is it fair that vegetarians have the option to eat according to their diet everyday, but on mondays carnivore have no option to eat the meat they live off of? For example, the salad bar and vegetarian hot option are available every single day, but on Mondays the sandwich station, which always contains meat, does not offer that option. Also, this rule was put into place without the consent or opinion of those of us who it affects. We feel that Meatless Mondays are a restriction of our right and for that reason we feel that “Meatless Mondays” should be amended or demolished.
