Lead replacement of the min. wage with a living wage/ family wage. A living wage/family wage should provide an individual with the min hourly wage needed to afford housing, food, utilities, transportation, and health care for themselves and their children. Implementation of a living wage/ family wage will ensure workers achieve a standard of living which is reasonable for "a person living in a civilized society". Sustained economic growth requires addressing economic inequality stemming from the wage and job issues facing our country. Economic inequality can be solved by implementing policies that align the interests of those pursuing profits with the interests of workers. History has shown us that higher wages lead to increased demand, higher productivity and overall economic growth.
