It costs the US more money to make pennies than they are actually worth. These coins serve no purpose as most cases a person would use coins (Such as parking meters and vending machines) do not accept pennies. Other countries that have eliminated the one cent coin have suffered little or no negatives to this. Eliminating this coin will help cut down on needless cost to the government and the people.
