Abolish the 'National Day of Prayer' as unconstitutional.

Created by J.W. on January 02, 2013

The national day of prayer goes beyond sheer acknowledgement of religion as its sole purpose it to encourage all people to engage in prayer. This is an inherently religious exercise and it has no secular function at all. The government shouldn't have a word to say about prayer, that's why a national day of prayer should have no government sponsorship. The first amendment is written with admirable lucidity and says that, 'congress should make no law pertaining to the establishment of religion.'
