abolish the National Security Agency, as it is an institution now based upon infringing on civil liberties

Created by I.C. on June 10, 2013

The National Security Act of 1947 was written at the beginning of the Cold War -- a different century, a different conflict, a different level of technology.

The National Security Agency has been allowed in the twenty-first century to operate in complete secrecy, preventing even a general debate among the American people about the trade off they want between security and civil liberties.

The NSA now operates as a Leviathan bureaucracy. No more. Abolish it, and stop preventing the American people from debating whether a national security state is even necessary. Whatever we decide, we will then work to implement.
