We the people believe that the National Weather Service should be abolished. It has been observed on many occasions that the National Weather Service provides false, unreliable information about current and upcoming weather forecasts. This is especially true in places, like Oregon, that are thousands of miles away from the NWS headquarters located in Silver Springs, Maryland. The National Weather Service is also a waste of government funding, as it does not provide semi-accurate forecasts for the whole United States. We understand it is difficult to predict weather patterns exactly, but we find that local news channels are much more reliable than the government-funded National Weather Service ever is.
