Abolish the No Child Left Behind Act.

Created by B.P. on September 24, 2011

The ability to complete a standardized test should not be the foundation for determining a student's ability to succeed. The No Child Left Behind Act provides an incentive for educators to limit their teaching time to subject matter that is to be assessed on a standardized test, rather than on genuine educational material which can better prepare our students for their future. In order to conform to the Act, many states have opted to lower their standards and create easier tests. The act limits progress and stifles innovation. It is disliked by students and teachers, puts undue pressure on all parties involved, and has become an observable failure. If we truly want to compete with the global market, we must begin by strengthening our education system. We can do this by abolishing this act.
