Abolish, nullify, suspend or otherwise halt the application of the death penalty in the United States.

Created by A.B. on December 05, 2012

Capital punishment is a throwback to a time where humanity was subject to its more base instincts, calling for revenge. However, as we have progressed as a civilization, the need to kill our enemies - even those who commit the most heinous crimes - has disappeared, and now the imposition of death has its root only in vengeful soil.

No coherent moral or ethical system can allow for one human being to kill another, except in self-defense, defense of others, or moral war. To allow government, made up of citizens like you and I, to kill without being threatened is to allow for state-sponsored murder. The death penalty is deleterious to the soul, to the United States, and to humanity as a whole.
