Abolish NYS Bill S04260 : Resisting Arrest can Equal an E class Felony

Created by Q.M. on March 25, 2015

We the People, request the abolition of New York State Senate Bill S04260 . The title of this bill states: "Establishes the crime of aggravated resisting arrest; makes it a class E felony" Supported by sen. Tony Avella.

We recognize that the relations between NYPD and the civilians of New York state have been uncomfortable, some would argue specious. Following the situations of Eric Garner and Mike Brown, along with countless others, we feel there is a better way to deal with the relations of our people, then being subjected to an E Class Felony, under the precedent of aggravated resisting arrest. Perhaps we can require stress training, or installing camera's instead. With the unfortunate track record of NYPD , and the overall improvement our communities. Please do not allow.
