The Second Amendment reads,"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
With all our military might, this outdated right harms us more than it protects us.
On 13 March 1996, in the Scottish down of Dunblane, a 43 year old man entered a primary school with 4 legally owned handguns and 743 rounds of ammunition. 16 children aged 5-6 and their teacher died that day, as well as the perpetrator who committed suicide.
The UK public petitioned their govt., collecting over 700,000 signatures. Within months, public ownership of arms and ammunition were banned. An amnesty was held and thousands of weapons were either destroyed or permanently decommissioned.
America can & should follow their lead
