Abolish the party system

The party system cripples the nation. Many people vote for a president solely based on his party. No one knows the issues, or how a candidate (or president) plans to fix these issues. A race should be limited to two people (by the end), but it should be based on issues instead of the parties they are in. If you don't give the people a party to vote on, you almost force them to listen to the issues. The party system also divides us. People argue over which party is better (almost like gangs would) creating a divide in the nation (something like this may even press states to want to secede.) ABOLISH THE PARTY SYSTEM (If you don't want to live in the divided states of America.)
