We, the signers of this petition, would like to abolish the penny. Here is a list of why we should: The one cent penny costs 1.8 cents to make. We make almost 5 billion of them each YEAR. The buying power of the penny is at an all time low. Its value is very low. Many other countries (such as Canada) abolished their penny, and didn't see any economic problems.
If we abolish the penny, we can just round our prices to either the nearest 5 or 10 cents.
