The penny has been around for 100's of years and is completely useless. It costs more money to make a penny than it is worth (≈1.83 ¢), and it can't be used in many applications (parking meters, vending machines,etc.) In 2013 there was a $55,000,000 ($55 M USD) loss from manufacturing the penny. Let's truly decimalize our currency and abolish the penny.
