Abolish the penny.

Created by K.S. on March 10, 2016

As much as we all love it, the penny is a true waste to America's economy. It costs almost two cents to make one penny, leading to millions of dollars being wasted every year. Other countries no longer use the penny (even America once had a half-penny) resulting in little effect on citizens or charities and a positive effect on the economy. We claim to love the penny when in reality they remain forgotten in jars and car crevices only to be remembered when we need exact change. Even with that, the penny can't be used at any machine (parking meters, vending machines, toll booths, laundry machines, etc.). It's time to stop talking and stop wasting money we don't have on a coin we barely use.
