The penny is a coin that has many flaws. It costs about 1.8 cents to make a coin that is only worth 1 cent. Nothing can be bought with pennies anymore except in conjuncture with other larger sums of money to provide exact change, which is tedious and can hold up lines in busy stores. No machines accept pennies except Coinstars and nobody wants to carry around pennies because their value is too little to justify carrying around a large amount. In short, pennies harm the economy and are almost useless in buying power. Hopefully we can get rid of them to help strengthen our economy.
