Abolish the penny and dollar bill. Have all cash transactions round down to nearest nickel increment.

Created by D.S. on July 28, 2013

The penny costs the U.S. Treasury approximately 2 to 2.4 cents to manufacture. The dollar coin also is significantly more durable than the dollar bill and lasts for many, many years. Mandating all transactions round down to the nearest nickel simplifies cash transactions and would ease the transition away from the penny. Most other counties have already eliminated the cent increment.
