The goal of our petition is to abolish the penny and nickel in order to simplify the currency system in the United States. This would stream line the economy, reduce cost of manufacturing currency, and establish order in the world market. Evidence of this is already present in most other developed nations, where amounts are rounded accordingly to adjust for this discrepancy. As well, the reduced cost and be used in other areas of currency manufacturing to help increase productivity, while providing extra materials to the other currencies that would still be left in production. Overall, this would allow easier transactions between producer and consumer in tangible transactions, while leaving digital money transfers to remain unchanged.
