The penny is waste of everyone's time. Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, and many other countries have discontinued their one cent coins with no drop in charitable donations, nor an increase in prices. Removing the penny from the economy will generally make it run much smoother. An economy that can run better without the burden of the penny will result in significant economical progress. It is time to abolish the penny.
