We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

ABOLISH the Prison Industrial Complex

Created by D.B. on July 10, 2016

This is a call for a federal abolition of financial incentive for: more arrests, more jailing, more incarceration. The presence of these create a conflict of interest between justice and the criminal justice system.

As long as there is a financial incentive for arrest more people, then there will be an incentive to prey on the most arrest-able populations of people: people of color, poor people, and/or anyone else without recourse.

As long as there is financial incentive to place more people in jail, then there will be incentive to undermine movements to reduce the need for jails.

As long as there is financial incentive for incarceration, then there will be incentive for some to undermine any movements to decrease the NEED for incarceration: such as drug law reform.

This must end.
