Abolish regulation that forces to hold the National Comission Certificate on Physician Assistant to be medicare provider

In 1991, a special law in the State of Florida allowed foreign medical graduate doctors to become, after fulfilling all requirements and passing a test, licensed Physician Assistants (PA). Florida opened the door for many to become part of the solution for healthcare demand. A new regulation of CMS-Medicare forces PAs to have the Certificate of National Commission Certificate for Physician Assistant (NCCPA). Over 300 foreign medical graduate doctors that became PAs in Florida with this law cannot hold the NCCPA certificate because it requires one to be a graduated PA from a US institution. This unfair and discriminatory regulation closes the door that once opened in 1991 in Florida; many are losing their jobs because of this.
