The book "The Absolutely True diary of a Part-Time Indian" is required to be read in my school in School District 77 of Mankato MN. I believe that this book is too "graphic" to be read in a 9th grade classroom. People may be exposed to these things, but, they should not be required to be exposed to these things. This book has multiple sexual references including one detailed description of masturbation. This book also has multiple uses of curse words. There are multiple racist sayings in this book and racial slurs gestured towards Native Americans. Although racism should me taught and shown what happened and how we can prevent it; this is unnecessary. We can learn more about Native Americans by reading research based books. This book has been banned from multiple schools due to its media.
