The requirement to take a language in high school has negatively affected many students. Taking up the time to allow other classes that could actually benefit the student, are instead wasted on some students by either their lack of interest or their inability to learn a second language. The option should be given for the class but students should be able to pass high school and go to a college of their choosing without having the second language.
