We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Abolish the Selective Service System

Created by C.M. on June 15, 2016

Currently, the United States has an all-volunteer military. The draft has not been used since the Vietnam War in 1972, but today all men are still required to register for the Selective Service System within 30 days of their 18th birthday.

Today, the draft is deemed unnecessary and a waste of over $20 million dollars in expenses yearly. If any men fail to register, whether knowingly or unknowingly, face lifelong punishments such as being denied federal loans and being unable to hold certain jobs. As of June 2016, the Senate has approved the first bill to require all women to register as well.

No one, man or women, should be required to register for the SSS or be forced into serving the military. We the People are calling for the permanent abolishment of the Selective Service System.
