Abolish Sport Hunting of Crows, Rescind 50 CFR § 20.133 that allows states to have crow hunting seasons.

Created by M.W. on February 18, 2013

The Code of Federal Regulations , 50 CFR § 20.133, allows all states to have a hunting season for crows of 124 days per year.
There is increasing scientific evidence that the crows are highly-intelligent animals, possessing a complex language and culture, capable of making and using tools, and possessing sophisticated problem solving abilities.
Recent studies have determined that crows create far greater benefits to agriculture and public health through their predation on numerous pest species and consumption of carrion than harm through consumption of agricultural products or predation on vertebrate species.
Crow hunting does not contribute significantly to the economy, is not done for food, and is cruel and unnecessary.
We therefore petition to rescind 50 CFR § 20.133
