abolish standardized testing in public schools to focus on broader curriculum subjects and stimulate creativity in KS

Created by L.M. on November 11, 2013

Abolish standardized testing in schools so that student can focus more on getting an education than prepping for standardized state tests in Kansas. Use state funding and distribute a portion towards education, when opting out of No Child Left Behind. This will eliminate penalties towards schools and teachers when test scores are low. This will allow more of a time frame for educators to work with and strive to cover more of a variety of subjects. Curriculum should be based by districts, and the districts should set standards, math, reading, science, history all being main focuses but also including subjects that are relevant to this day and age.
