Abolish the state and federal income tax, and replace the revenue with an increased sales tax.

Instead of penalizing people for making more money, try encouraging them to save for the future. If you are taxed on what you spend as opposed to what you make you will be more likely to put away for your retirement. It will also allow us to collect taxes on each and every person living in the country. The sales tax increase would not have to be very large, and would be a lot less noticable then getting bumbed up to a higher tax bracket because you worked too much overtime.
