Our tax system heavily favors the extremely wealthy through the many tax loopholes that Congress approves. No one even understands our tax system due to its overwhelming 70,000+ pages. For comprehensive tax reform, we must wipe the slate clean and reduce the tax code to no more than 500 pages.
Get rid of all current tax loopholes/breaks and require all new loopholes to have an effective life of no more than 10 years. Congress may not reapprove tax breaks in groups of more than 10 per vote tally.
This is a fair cut that doesn't favor either party, and does not affect the majority of Americans, who can't take advantage of most tax loopholes. It will help get rid of legacy tax breaks, aid the average person in filing their taxes, and reduce abuse by the extremely wealthy.
