The Transportation Security Administration violates civil rights, human dignity and individuals' well being at a massive expense to the U.S. taxpayers, whilst remaining ineffective at its job. It lobbies for more funding and more intrusive measures through fear and intimidation. This is not how a 'free' country should run.
So, I petition that we cut funding to the TSA and instead allow airlines and their insurers determine, through reason and statistics, how to best protect the airlines. The insurers know that one terrorist's successful attack using their clients' airplanes would cost them more than they could afford, so they would take appropriate measures to prevent that from happening. Plus, the cost would be to the airlines and the flier, not to the American taxpayers.
