The U.S. Selective Service System was set up on May 18, 1917 to grow a stronger military, and while it was of great use at the time, which was the beginning of the first World War, it has become an impediment on our basic human rights, is very sexist, and is no longer necessary.
As a minor myself, I like to think that when I become an adult I will not have to be forced into a war, as I'm sure no one else does either, so why should I sign my bodily rights off to the military? I own my body, not our government.
Our military is currently one of the strongest in the world with out using a draft, so why do we still have it? We are wasting time and money on this "service."
To address my point on sexism, this service only requires men to sign up, blatantly sexist.
Abolish the SSS today!
